Award Sponsors 2023

We are delighted to announce the sponsors of the 2023 Lanarkshire Business Awards.

Principal Sponsor: Albert Bartlett

Albert Bartlett is a progressive family brand, established in 1948 and dedicated to providing tasty, wholesome food for proper meals, developing its range to fit with today’s meal providers. The brand turns 75 years old this year and are proud to have been a key part of the community during their full history.

The family-owned company is proudly headquartered in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire and is fiercely committed to providing a branded range of the best potatoes grown in the most responsible way. Albert Bartlett potatoes are grown across the UK from the far north of Scotland through the country to Cornwall and across to Northern Ireland and the Island of Jersey. The company has further UK sites at Boston in Lincolnshire, Worstead in Norfolk and on the island of Jersey.

In addition to its fresh potatoes, Albert Bartlett has a range of frozen products, which includes Homestyle Chips, Chunky Chip and Fries. In 2018 the company opened a new chilled plant at Airdrie. The manufacturing facility is now producing Albert Bartlett branded products, including chilled chips, croquettes, mash, crispy slices and Parmentier Potatoes, as well as retailer own label products.

Albert Bartlett has invested substantially in its infrastructure and in creating a brand, which has become a household name; ensuring growth and job creation in a shrinking food category and consolidating production sector. Developing Young Workforce Lanarkshire & East Dunbartonshire

Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) is the Scottish Government’s national strategy for strengthening links between businesses and education to better prepare children and young people for the world of work. The headline aim of the programme is to encourage and support more employers to engage directly with schools and colleges to recruit more young people and promote diversity in their workforce.

The DYW Regional Group for Lanarkshire and East Dunbartonshire (DYW LED) was established in October 2017 to ensure that young people across the region have work relevant experience and opportunities while still at school. DYW collaborates with schools, to bring industry into the classroom, and give young people first-hand experience of the world of work.

DYW works in partnership with employers, encouraging them to play an active role in shaping Scotland’s education system. Employers can then help create and educate the talent pool they need, benefiting from the fresh perspective that young employees bring to the workplace.

Our aim is to create a culture of real partnership working between employers and education, facilitating employers to view themselves as co-investors/co-designers of the school curriculum to deliver the qualifications and skills industry requires.
